Darner - Extended Family - Stevens Point, WI Photographer
By: Pichette Photography
Some family sessions are about updated photos. Others are about celebrating a milestone. The Darner family session was both ... and it was such a meaningful one.
On a spring day, the whole family came together because Mom and Dad had one request for their 40th anniversary present ... a family picture. And for their photo session, they had one very specific wish: a photo of everyone gathered around the kitchen island.
And honestly, that could not have been more perfect.
The kitchen is the center of their house, where this family spends so much of their time together. It is where conversations happen, where food is shared, where drinks are poured, where stories are told, and where everyone naturally gathers. So instead of only creating a posed family portrait, we were able to photograph the family in a place that truly feels like home.
After the kitchen photos, we headed outside for extended family portraits. The spring setting was beautiful, with the trees, water, and soft natural colors creating a relaxed backdrop. Everyone coordinated so well in warm, earthy tones, which fit the season perfectly and gave the photos a cozy, timeless feel.
We also made time for smaller family groupings, couples portraits, and some sweet grandparent photos. Those are always some of our favorites during extended family sessions because they help tell the full story. The big group photo is important, but the smaller moments matter too ... Mom and Dad together, each family unit, the grandchildren, and all the little connections in between.
