Winter in Wisconsin does not always get the credit it deserves when it comes to outdoor portraits. Many people think of winter as gray, bare, or not as pretty as fall or summer. But this session proved just the opposite. The soft browns of the tall grass, the neutral trees, the wooden boardwalk, and the overcast sky created such a warm and timeless backdrop. Those natural tones photographed beautifully and allowed the family’s outfits and connections to really stand out.

One of our favorite parts of this session was seeing how comfortable and joyful everyone was together. Even on a chilly Wisconsin day, there was so much warmth in the way this family interacted. The smiles, hugs, and laughter made the session feel easy and genuine.
