Meet Melody, a Class of 2027 senior from Wausau DCE! For her senior mini session, she asked for simple backgrounds with a little bit of country and a little bit of downtown. We loved that combination. Give us a field of wildflowers and a good brick wall, and we’re happy photographers.
For the country portraits, Melody wore a white dress that looked right at home among the tall golden grasses and little pops of purple and yellow wildflowers. We brought out a wooden stool for a few seated portraits, and we love how the flowers in the foreground make it feel like you’re right there in the field with her.
Downtown, Melody went casual with a white top, jeans, and sneakers. The red brick gave us a warm backdrop for everything from close-ups to a laid-back shot of her sitting on the sidewalk. We also played with her reflection in a storefront window and found a leafy corner where the vines softened the lines of the building. That spot felt like a little bit of both looks in one frame.
One of our favorite things about Melody’s mini session is how much variety we got from a few simple choices. The wildflowers gave her gallery a soft, early-fall feel, and the brick and denim brought out a more casual side. Through it all, her smile is what we keep coming back to.
